Cheikh Kouyate - quality again

Despite the horrific performance from the rest of the team today he was the only one that stood out once again and bar a terrible pass in the first half, he was everywhere again, tracking back, winning the ball, bombing forward, superb signing and a strong plus point so far despite the let down from everyone else today. I cannot wait to see Alex Song and him in the same side.
Quality player.

Kouyate was poor.
A shadow of what we've seen to date.
Was bossed and out of position most of the game.
But then nobody did well. No man of match announced as far as I recall.

As much as I like Kouyate I couldn't stomach how easily Southampton bossed the midfield today. For an Allardyce team to basically get bullied is not acceptable.
It was obvious from the stands that the idiot Mike Dean was going to allow a bit of physicality and Southampton took full advantage.
No West Ham player who started that match emerged with much credit today. I think we've won four games out of the last 21 so Allardyce's 'I know how to set teams up to play winning football' self-mythology is wearing more than thin. Why doesn't someone from the media ever call that into question?
He can hardly say the board haven't backed him with money yet we've known goals have been hard to come by, we've bought three decent forwards and a player deemed not up to standard a year ago and released has started in every game of our new campaign. And today he was clearly injured and limping around the pitch while Zarate got substituted.
Depressing stuff.

Zarate, pretty shit for me. Gave away the free kick for the equaliser. But, all of them were crap.

I thought he was immense again today, the engine inside that bloke just doesn't stop. Even when he gave the ball away cheaply, he wasted no time whatsoever in getting stuck right in to make amends.
I just hope this is how he carries on, I love a bit of COMMITMENT.

I don't think Kouyate put anywhere near the same levee of performance as the last 2 games.
He was ordinary.
As was everyone. Not one player can really say they had a decent game.

The problem zarate had today was he had to drop deeper and deeper to get the ball because our midfield were incapable of passing to someone in claret and blue.

Zarate was good for me. Made the interception that led to the goal and was clearly the main threat until Valencia came on too late.
